Investigation Ongoing in Death of Brick Woman Found in Toms River Hotel

The 18-year-old woman was found dead in a room at the Red Roof Inn on Water Street.

Authorities continue to investigate the death of an 18-year-old Brick woman found Tuesday in a room at the Toms River Red Roof Inn on Water Street, police said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Toms River police are investigating the death of the woman, who was found at 10:30 a.m., according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

Capt. Jack Sramaty of the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group said Wednesday afternoon that authorities are not yet ready to release additional information in the woman’s death. Details may come later in the day, he said.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Detective Randy Petrick are investigating the death, along with the narcotics unit.

An autopsy was performed and a cause of death is pending toxicology results, Sramaty told the Asbury Park Press.
