Fatal Jet Ski Collision North of Route 37 Bridge

Some report one of the jet skis was located in Brick, but that is under investigation.

Two jet skis collided earlier this evening north of the Route 37 bridge in Toms River, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to state police.

Sgt. Adam Grossman, of the State Police Office of Public Information, told Patch the accident happened around 8 p.m.

Two people were taken to Community Medical Center, with injuries, and one male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, another left with minor injuries, Grossman said. He declined to identify the men last night.

The victims were brothers in their 20s, Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy told NJ.com Sunday night. Their identities have not yet been released by authorities.

Scanner reports noted that one of the jet skis was found later in Brick, but Grossman said that, and the cause of the collision, is under investigation.
