A Brick Township woman suffered a minor injury in a crash on Route 571 near the corner of North Bay Avenue in Toms River, police said.

The crash occurred before 12 noon Wednesday, according to Toms River police spokesman Ralph Stocco.

Karen Dimicco, of Brick, was driving her 2005 Ford Explorer when the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a utility pole, Stocco said. Dimicco was treated for a minor injury as a result.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by Cpl. Frank Palino and Ptl. Brian Doyle, both of the Traffic Safety Unit, Stocco said.

Momere, it could have been you she hit! Glad you weren't involved in the accident & hopefully she learned a lesson! I see this all to often with people driving like idiots and often wonder how many times they crashed!

Stacy, thank you and you're absolute right! The unfortunate part is these IDIOTS usually hurt or kill other people! Hopefully, she'll slow down and count herself blessed to have survived! When she was flipping over (hit the pole on her side) I thought she was definitely severely injured. Bottom Line - Unless you're a cop, fireman or emergency vehicle (ambulance) slow the hell down! You might just save a life!

Probably late for hair appt. Too many people on phones and rushing down the road only to have to stop at red light anyone. We need some police that will actually patrol the roads and stop all this shit with the cell phones etc... try driving around Lakewood and Brick, getting to the point where you need a helmet and roll cage!!

Das, You're so right! The good that came out of this (beside her NOT killing someone) is she's gonna pay for taking that pole out! Hopefully, the police will do a thorough investigation and her insurance company makes her pay for any repairs/ replacement! It was so horrible seeing that vehicle literally flipping in the air and hitting that pole! One of the men who helped pull her out said she told them her vehicle ran off the road! The NERVE! It ran off because she was speeding and driving recklrss, period!
