Crews Repair Morning Gas Main Break

Break occurred off Brick Boulevard

A gas main break that occurred Friday morning has been repaired, officials said.

A construction company working on the remodeling of the Stop and Shop supermarket, located at 55 Brick Boulevard, damaged a 2 inch gas main line to the rear of the store at 8:18 a.m., according to Brick Police Capt. John Rein.

The NJ Natural Gas Company, Breton Woods and Pioneer Hose Fire Departments
responded to the scene, and Hooper Avenue was shut down for about 30 minutes until the leak was secured. The scene was turned over to NJ Natural Gas Company and the construction company at 8:48 a.m.
