Chambers Bridge Rd. Crash Sends Man to Hospital, Closes Roadway

Power outages also result from crash

An accident Sunday night shut down a portion of Chambers Bridge Road and sent one man to the hospital, police said.

Officer Jay Lampiasi said a 2003 Jeep Wrangler being driven by Neil Napolitano of Ocean Township veered to the right as it was approaching the intersection with the entrance to the shopping plaza at about 7:50 p.m.

The Jeep hit the curbed island of the plaza entrance and continued south, striking a fire hydrant and a utility pole before coming to a final rest on Chambers Bridge Road approximately 75 feet south of the shopping plaza entranceway, Lampiasi said.
