A Brick woman has been charged with DWI after the car she was driving struck a utility pole in front of Sunday night.
Lori A. Riddle, 51, was traveling westbound when the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser she was driving left Route 571 and struck a pole at about 10:45 p.m., said Manchester Police Capt. Lisa Parker in a statement.
The Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company removed Riddle from the car and she was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune with injuries which "do not appear to be life-threatening," Parker said.
Riddle was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, the captain said.
Traffic in the area was delayed for about an hour because of the crash, according to Parker.
Also responding to the scene were the Manchester First Aid Squad and MONOC paramedics. The crash is under investigation by Patrolman Charles Gatnarek, the captain said.
