Police seeking witnesses to Tuesday night accident

A 65-year-old Brick woman died Tuesday night in a head-on collision after another driver crossed a double-yellow line, police said.

Susan Steeper was driving northbound on Herbertsville Road in her 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis when a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Deborah Tadych, 60, of Brick, crossed the double-yellow line in the center of the roadway while driving in the opposite direction, said Brick Police Traffic Safety Officer Scott Dierking.

Tadych's vehicle hit Steeper's head-on about 300 feet south of Sawmill Road, Dierking said. The accident occurred at approximately 6:37 p.m.
