Brick Walmart, K-Mart Stores Evacuated After Bomb Threats

Police currently investigating threats

UPDATE: Authorities have cleared the scene of the two stores. Brick Patch is still awaiting details on the incident.

The Walmart and K-Mart stores in Brick Township have both been evacuated following bomb threats that were made against the businesses, police have confirmed.

According to scanner observations, police, firefighters and K9 units have responded to the scene.

The Brick Police watch commander on duty confirmed the bomb threats had been called in and said they were still under investigation.

There were no reports of injuries during the evacuation, and no immediate word on the exact manner in which the threats were made.

Though unconfirmed, scanner chatter indicated a similar threat may have been made against the K-Mart store in Wall Township.
