Brick Police Officer to Compete in Super Bowl Event

Dan Kenny to compete on world class trainer's team

Brick Township Police Officer Dan Kenny has been chosen by former Brick resident, Todd Durkin, to represent his team in The Under Armour Super Hero Fitness Challenge on Saturday in Grand Central Station in New York.

The event is one of many happenings this week surrounding Super Bowl 48, and comes as Under Armour chose five of the world’s top trainers and had them assemble their own teams of four, two men and two women, to compete against each other.

Durkin, the former Brick resident, is a world famous fitness trainer who has trained some of the world’s top athletes to include New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, said Sgt. Henry Drew of the Brick Police Department.

Durkin went on a country-wide searc to find members for Team Impact, and participants had to videotape and time themselves completing a small fitness challenge created by Durkin. Patrolman Kenny, who is a lifelong resident of Brick, had the best time out of everyone who competed, earning him the number one slot on the team, Drew said.

"The Brick Township Police Department would like to wish Patrolman Dan Kenny and the rest of Team Impact good luck this weekend!" Drew wrote in an e-mail.
