Brick Police Looking For Suspects in Shop-Rite Purse Snatching

Brick police are searching for two women who they say are connected with a purse snatching at the township's Shop-Rite supermarket on Route 70 last month.

According to police, surveillance video showed one woman – the older of the two – leaving the Shop-Rite with the victim’s purse on March 10. The younger female, caught on surveillance video, may have been the person who later used credit cards that were in the purse to buy items worth approximately $900 at convenience stores and gas stations, police said.

It is believed that the two women left the area in an older model Mazda Tribute, Sgt. Henry Drew said. The vehicle was red in color, and no license plate was observed.

Anyone who has information on the identities of the suspects are being asked to contact Detective Daniel Waleski in the Brick Township Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-262-1170.
