Brick Police Looking for Burglar Who Got Caught on Tape

Suspect fled before police arrived

Brick Township police are looking for a burglar who was caught on tape leaving the scene of the crime, a statement from the department said Tuesday.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Emberly Road for a report of an attempted burglary at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Henry Drew said.

While on their way to the location, officers received information that a male was seen running from the residence, entering a vehicle and leaving the area, but by the time they had arrived, the man was gone and a search turned up nothing. But through their investigation on scene, officers were able to obtain a surveillance video and pictures from the area.

The video and pictures show the suspect leaving the residence and entering a light blue, four door sedan.

Anyone who believes they recognize the suspect or the vehicle depicted are being asked to contact Detective Brian Farnkopf in the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-262-4611. They can also contact the Brick Police directly at 732-262-1100.
