Brick Police are investigating several residential burglaries that occurred recently on one street in the township's Herbertsville section.
Three homes were burglarized on Yellowbrick Road, off Herbertsville Road, sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Monday and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Capt. John Rein. Two of the burglaries are believed to have occurred in the early morning hours when the residents were home and the perpetrators entered through an unlocked door, Rein said.
Once inside the homes, the burglars stole flat panel televisions sets, laptop computers, a camera and an XBox video game console.
Rein said residents should lock windows and doors on the lower levels of their homes, secure valuable items from plain sight where they can be observed from outside the home and turn on outside lighting. Residents should also report any suspicious activity to the police department immediately, Rein said.
Anyone with information pertaining to the burglaries is being asked to contact Detective Thomas Cooney of the Brick Twp. Police Investigations Division at 732-262-1120.
