Brick Police Investigate Daytime Burglaries

String of break-ins dates back to January, cops say

Brick Police are investigating a string of daytime burglaries that have occured between January and this week, according to Capt. John Rein.

In all, 11 daytime residential burglaries have occured between Jan. 22 and March 16, Rein said. In all of the cases, the break-ins took place during daytime hours where the suspect or suspects entered the homes through rear windows or doors.

Once inside the homes the suspects stole jewelry and money, Rein said.

Police say they the burglaries occurred in the Breton Woods, Bay Harbor, Mallard Point and Lake Riviera neighborhoods.

This is the second string of burglaries police have investigated, recently. Between October 2010 and January 2011, 12 burglaries occured in a number of senior citizen communities in town. In late January, a Toms River in connection with those break-ins.
