Brick PD Investigating Home Burglaries

Jewelry taken from homes, police say

Brick police are investigating several daytime residential burglaries that have occurred during the past week.

In all of the burglaries the suspects stole jewelry from the homes, Capt. John Rein said.

One burglary occurred on Texas Drive last week where $2,000 in jewelry was reported to have been taken, and two more were reported on Tuesday– one on Mantoloking Road and another on Stengle Ave. – where jewelry valued at more $4,500 was reported to have been taken.

Police are asking anyone with information on the burglaries to call the Brick Township Police Investigative Division at 732-262-1120.

Druggies are stealing our jewelry while the politicians are stealing everything else.

Not so sure the jewel thieves are all druggies - they may be sober and trying to pay bills with the jobs they don't have. Desperate times brings desperate measures. All the We Buy Gold places are a further incentive. As for the politicians, I agree. And when they steal they steal with both hands.

Decent people don't turn to burglary when times are tough. If you are out of work and desperate, there are jobs out there. Maybe not what these people would like, but they are there. This area, unfortunately, is full of drug addicts and this is an easy way for them to get cash for what they need.
People have to stop leaving windows and doors of their homes and cars unlocked.

Kill all drug sellers like they do in other countrys. You libs always compare us to other societys, so why not do this then. No crime in these other cultures who do it.
2much2say September 28, 2012 at 02:19 pm
If you research you will find that these are young teens trying to pawn what they can to get their next fix. This is a horrible problem that has taken over. Not adults, kids. Tweens & teens and young adults. I do t see how the police dont check the pawn shops they have to provide info when pawning something.
All related to drugs.

easssy WMS826 save the killing for the child molesters, rapiest, killers the violent people, i'm NOT condoning "drug selling" by ANY MEANS, but "killing them all" won't work how many people have we locked up? and it's worse now more than ever. it's a simple supply and demand concept and there's to much money to be made if you kill one 2 more will replace them before you can even turn your head. i hate to place blame on parent's but without the demand there would be no supply. The U.S. put out an article about a month ago about how everytime they bust one of these cartels they come back stronger and smarter it's a vicious cycle and i think the only way to stop it is with education and parents when you see a drug dealer force someone to smoke crack then you can bring them out back and kill them it's supply and demand at it's finest get rid of the demand and the rest will fall in place.

If I were to police and I looking for the perps I would start over in Maple Leaf.
BrickAmericanMan September 28, 2012 at 07:47 pm
drug dealers are not the problem...kill the rapists and murderers. weed makes me mellow and hungry, not angry and wanting to steal other peoples stuff.
Comfortably Numb September 28, 2012 at 11:23 pm
I don't think its weed that is the problem. Its the other hard illegal drugs and especially the prescription drugs.
dragonmom3 September 29, 2012 at 04:09 pm
sadly I think its sign of the times desperate times Equals desperate measures

Maybe if the court system keeps these kids in jail and hands out bigger punishments they would stop some of the burglaries from continuing. Instead of these kids parents paying for expensive attornies and getting their kids off on charges. If they rob, steal, have a gun etc lock them up period.
Jennie October 2, 2012 at 04:45 pm
In stead of blaming maple leaf park for everything, maybe everyone should look in there own back yards. It is not just the people from maple leaf and I really don't think that someone from here is going to go to the other side of town to steal. The nerve of some people!

notMAPLELEAFZ So you solution to a problem is Just lock them up? and what bad parents for HELPING AND LOVING THEIR CHILDREN!! So rather than addressing the true problem, just lock em up and all parents are bad! So, instead of addressing the massive drug problem brick has and getting kids off the drugs your highly intelligent solution is to run up even more in taxes and let the problem continue? You Sir/Maam are a MORON!!!!!

I agree with quiet time. Def consideration of my neighbors if they have a sleeping baby or back yardRead More party. We surely try to respect that.

Funny Lelenore, I don't see that there are very many rules and regs. If it were elected it would notRead More be an infringement. I respect your opinion, but still feel six day time hours out of an entire week is not a lot to ask. If nothing else, would love to see a ban on gas leaf blowers. There are towns that have that in place. The mowers are not really IMHO that intrusive, but the leaf blowers and concrete cutters are another matter. Trouble is, people herebouts think they are in Montana and often are as you say, on 100 by 100 lots. What is the point of having all of this grass and trees if one never has the serenity about them to enjoy it? I think the ill effects of suburban noise pollution on health - blood pressure, aggression, release of the chemical cortisol etc. are well documented. Over a twenty five year period in time in Brick I find that this has become a real quality of life issue. At one point in my life I resided in mid town Manhattan and ya know what - being high up IT WAS QUIETER! Jackson? I don't think so. Doesn't Brielle have such an elective ordinance?

It was suppose to move next to the next liquor store behind Harbor Freight on Hooper. But,they neverRead More did.And when we pass it,it looks like they aren't even working on that side of the building. We miss that place for their deli dept.

They are waiting for the new store to get dirty and smell. It needs to be run down a little bit forRead More it to function properly.
can't say who June 19, 2013 at 05:44 pm
Right next to the liquor store. The reason it is taking so long is the politics of Acropolis andRead More Pat Botazzi. They kept the liquor store from opening for TWO years by controlling the planning board and caused the store owner HUNDREDS OF THOUSANS OF DOLLARES WITH COURT FIGHTS. Acropolis LOST THE COURT FIGHTS BUT CONTINUES TO BEAT UP ON THE LIQUOR STORE'S NEW TENNANT AS RETROBUTION Now Acropolis can play the code enforcement game and still get his happiness as a bigoted soon to be ex mayor and not a nice man. How about denying this. It is going to be a great store with the same owners and great food IF Acropolis doesn't have them go bankrupt due to him before they even open.
