Brick Man Indicted on Charges of Assaulting Cops

Police say he assaulted officers after threatening to kill a woman

A Brick man is facing charges he assaulted two cops after threatening to kill a woman on Jan. 25.

Michael D. Davis, 30, of Mantoloking Road, is accused by an Ocean County grand jury of threatening to kill Christy Trivisonno, assaulting Ptl. Michael Spallina and Larry Petrola and resisting their efforts to arrest him.

During a domestic dispute, Brick Police Capt. John Rein said at the time, Davis damaged property belonging to Trivisonno and then threatened to shoot her. He fled the residence before police arrived.

At 2:50 a.m. the following morning, police officers spotted Davis walking along Route 70 and tried to arrest him. Spallina suffered a broken leg and Petrola suffered a shoulder injury while trying to subdue  Davis, Rein said.

Officers eventually used pepper spray to get Davis under control and into a police car.

Davis is being lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $100,000 bail.
