A 50-year-old Brick man was declared dead after he suffered a heart attack in his car at 3:44 p.m., Tuesday, on Route 18 near Naricon Place.
According to East Brunswick police, Edward Glinka, 50, was in cardiac arrest when Michael Kowalski, a fireman with East Brunswick Independent Fire Company District 2, saw his car stopped against the guardrail and began performing CPR until police arrived.
TransMed EMS and Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics arrived on the scene but were unsuccessful in reviving Glinka, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived and transported Glinka’s body to their office. The right lane of the highway was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation. Patrolman Kevin Bolch and Detective Glen Furian are handling the investigation
