Brick Man Arrested On Weapons, Heroin And Other Drug-Related Charges

A 33-year-old Brick man was arrested in Asbury Park on weapons, heroin and other drug-related charges, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.

Roshawn L. Ancrum of Barber Avenue was charged April 18 with carrying a handgun and trying to distribute Xanax within 500 feet of the Washington Village public housing complex, court records say.

He also was charged with trying to distribute heroin and crack cocaine in the same location.

He was charged with having a "Ja Nine" 9mm gun in his possession after being convicted of burglary, court records said.

Ancrum allegedly tried to discard 47 glassine packets of heroin in the rear of police patrol car after he was apprehended.

He was lodged in jail at $250,000 with no 10 percent option. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 2.
