A Brick Township man who took deposits from Sandy homeowners to elevate their houses has been charged with theft after an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Todd Erickson of T&G General Contracting accepted deposits from more than 10 homeowners in Lavallette, Mantoloking, Seaside Heights, Toms River and Manahawkin, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said in a prepared release.

"However, no work was performed for any of the victims," he said.

The total amount of deposits Erickson accepted between October 2013 and May 2013 was more than $75,000, Coronato said.

Erickson was arrested at home without incident by Ocean County Detective James Conroy and Agent Steven Shadiak of the OCPO's Economic Crimes Unit. He posted the $50,000 cash bail and was released.

Anyone who suspects they may have been duped or knows anyone who believes they are defrauded should contact either Conroy or Shadiak at 732-929-2027.
