According to Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard, a 32-year-old Sawmill Road man was cooking a meal in a frying pan when the grease fire began. The man then took the pan and threw it in his bath tub, sending the burning grease flying. The incident ended up causing the man to be burnt on his left hand and forearm. The burns were relatively minor, Reinhard said.

Brick Police EMS transported the man to Ocean Medical Center for treatment. The fire department removed the man's stove from his home and cleared out smoke from the building.
