Most were arrested in a sweep of deadbeat parents

Five Brick men were arrested in recent sweeps by Ocean County sheriff’s officers looking for deadbeat parents who owed their children $491,186.

Those arrested and what they owed, according to Sheriff William L. Polhemus, were:

  • Rodney Allan Brown, 42, of Stengel Avenue, $14,875.
  • John Trione, 52, of Pine Drive, $12,032.
  • Patrick McCormack, 36, of Washington Drive, $3,257.
  • Anthony DeTuro, 40, of Heritage Drive, $1,425.
  • Matthew S. Diaz, 20, of Adrianna Court, $2,305. He also had a warrant for failing to show up at a status conference to answer a drug possession charge.

Brown, Trione, McCormack and DeTuro were released after making partial support payments to the Ocean County Probation Department.

Also arrested in Brick were:

  • Michael P. Melia, 45, of Freeport Road, for violating the drug court program rules.
  • Dorian Puzio, 41, of Barbara Lane, for violating the terms of the intensive supervision program.
  • Guy J. Erbe, 31, of Sunset Road, for violating the probation he was on for drug possession.

Polhemus said his officers have arrested 752 people this year and extradited 17 fugitives from out of state.
