11 Injured in 6 Vehicle Crash

Crash occurred at the intersection of Burnt Tavern Road and Maple Avenue

Brick Police are investigating a six-vehicle crash at the intersection of Burnt Tavern Road and Maple Ave that occurred at approximately 4:22 p.m. Thursday, Capt. John Rein said.

Nine of the injured were transported to Ocean Medical Center, most with minor injuries, Rein said, and one with a serious, but not life threatening, injury. Two of the injured refused medical treatment on scene. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle by fire department personnel.

The roadway was closed for about an hour while those injured were treated and the vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Emergency personnel responding and assisting at the crash were Brick Township Police, the Herbertsville Fire Dept., the Laurelton Fire Dept., Brick Police EMS, Point Pleasant EMS, Quality Medical Transportation and MONOC Paramedics.

Patrolman Brian Ulman is the investigating officer on the case.  He was assisted at the scene by Patrolmen Brian Williams, Brian Farnkopf, John Gordon and Anthony Zurica.
