Outdoor Pickle-Ball courts needed!

There is a demand for outdoor courts for a popular new game, Pickle-Ball.  A few under-utilized tennis courts could be re-striped to accommodate them.

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, the gym at Brick's Civic Plaza is busy with dozens of Pickle-Ball players waiting their turn to play.  We'd like to continue playing outdoors when this indoor program ends this month.

It wouldn't cost much to set up some outdoor courts.  Toms River and other towns have done so.  The game is sort of a combination of indoor tennis, badminton, volleyball and paddleball.  Both men and women of all ages can play competitively with little practice.  Brick Recreation already owns  some balls and some paddles for new players, and most current players have purchased our own paddles.

Please, mayor and council, consider fostering good healthy fun by creating Pickle-Ball courts in one or more of our parks.
