OPINION: New School In Brick Means Higher Taxes

We don't need more housing! The cost in 2011 was 15,000 a pupil in Brick. I don't know what it will be for the 2014-2015 school year, but I bet a lot more. What will the tax payers in these new houses be paying?

Why are the people on the planning board so short sighted? Don't they know the cost per pupil is far greater than the ratables?

The Asbury Park Press ran a story about Brick opening up a new school to accommodate the new students that they anticipate to be entering our schools when the new development is built behind Shop Rite. Our mayor wants to build more housing on the old Food Town site. This will cost tax payers a lot more than we will get back in retables.

We don’t need more houses!!! Please think ahead Brick and don’t let this happen! We should fix the foreclosures we have now and not build new homes. Our property values are going down, down, down!! And with this kind for poor planning, our taxes will be going up, up, up!!!
