Runyan Says October is a Chance to Reflect

Congressman reminds constituents it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Column as submitted by the office of Rep. Jon Runyan:

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many view this month as a time to commemorate their own recovery or that of someone close to them. For others we remember and mourn the loss of a loved one. For all of us, however, this month offers a chance to reflect on the advances we have made in fighting this disease, and reminds us that there is still a great deal of work to be done.

The National Cancer Institute has determined breast cancer to be the second most common type of cancer among women in the United States, with more than 2.5 million American women having suffered from breast cancer at one point during their lifetime. The Susan G. Komen Foundation estimates that in just 2012 there will be nearly 227,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed and nearly 40,000 deaths as a result of breast cancer. New Jersey in particular has one of the highest incidences of breast cancer in the United States, with roughly 130 women out of every 100,000 developing breast cancer.

If you would like to learn more about breast cancer, please visit the National Cancer Institute at the National Institute of Health (NIH) at www.cancer.gov

We must continue to work toward finding a cure for breast cancer, as well as a way to identify and prevent breast cancer before it threatens the lives of the women we all love and care about. This can be accomplished through a continued commitment to science, research, and advocacy as well as by educating young women on the signs and risk factors for breast cancer. You can count on me to lend my name and support to finding a cure for breast cancer.

Sincerely,

Jon Runyan
Member of Congress

Runyon propaganda won't make up for 2 years of doing nothing but voting the way party leaders told him to vote in the obstructionist Congress. Ex-football player is still blocking (progress) and falling down on the job.

Reflect on Runyon voting to kill Medicare & Social Security, putting them at the whims of the stock market and insurance salesmen. Reflect on Runyon bowing to Grover Norquist & the Tea Party. Reflect on lemmings like Runyon bringing Congress to a standstill for the past 4 years.
OBAMA FAILED October 21, 2012 at 07:09 PM
This post says it all I DON'T HAVE A PLAN OR RECORD TO RUN ON 4:56 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 OBAMA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS RECORD OF FAILURE I am often reminded of what Obama said at the 2008 DNC: “If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from. You make a big election about small things.” Every day, his campaign is making it smaller and smaller, and the President’s poll numbers keep dropping and dropping. 25 million unemployed $7 Trillion in new debt. $1 Trillion in WELFARE SPENDING 47 million on food stamps $1.5 Trillion budget deficits $500 Billion in UNPAID Medicare spending $500 Billion in UNPAID Social Security Tax cuts OBAMA LIES. AMERICANS DIE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQBSTomBWls IT WAS YOUR JOB OBAMA. YOU FAILED. STOP BLAMING OTHERS. OBAMA - what HAPPENED TO THE DEBT??? YOU ADDED $7 TRILLION TO IT!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaQUU2ZL6D8&feature=endscreen&NR=1 MAN UP!

All because of Bush's Sept. 2008 meltdown of the national economy, Bush's 2 unfunded wars and Bush's unfunded drug program, which Obama couldn't fix because of Senate Repubs' filibusters and House Repubs' obstructionism on every single solution -- thanks to the Tea Party and bowing to lobbbyist Grover Norquist. Romney would merely be Bush's third term. No way! America isn't that stupid!
