Obituary: Augusta “Gussie” (Quartararo) Napoli

Augusta “Gussie” (Quartararo) Napoli, 95, of Brick, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.

Mrs. Napoli was born in Manhattan and lived in the Bronx for most of her life; She then resided in Holbrook, L.I. for several years before moving to Brick in 1994.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother, foster mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and simply a caring, gentle and kind woman to everyone she met.

Mrs. Napoli was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Napoli, in 1994 and her dear grandson, Christopher Rossi. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Anthony and Diane Napoli, Joseph Napoli, Elizabeth and James Barry, Augusta and Louis Lombardi and Lucille and Robert Bozniak, and her foster sons, Sammy and Rose Calderone, and David and Arlene Calderone.

She is also survived by her brothers and their wives Peter and Ann Quartararo, Leonard Quartararo, Albert and Jean Quartararo, and James Quartararo. In addition, Mrs. Napoli is survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Coram, L.I.
