Meeting on Foodtown Redevelopment on Wednesday 3/19

Join other Brick residents on Wednesday evening, March 19th at 7:30 PM at the Brick Library to discuss ideas for the redevelopment of the Foodtown property. Many of us have voiced our opinions that the current developer's proposal for the construction of a 192 unit private "gated, high end" condominium community, 90+ rental apartments and 35,000 sq. feet of retail space is not acceptable. This is our opportunity to discuss alternative ideas with the intention of presenting alternative ideas to the Council and Mayor for their consideration. This is our opportunity to have input in what should be an open and transparent redevelopment process.

J.Jones, it's still fresh in peoples minds, just how much your group of R's "didn't do" what's right for the town. I understand you're bitter, it was humiliating, but finally Brick decided enough is enough. If this bunch turns out to be as lame as the last, they'll be voted out too. Have you come up with a date yet for the "friends & family club" reunion ? ....Good Luck lol

Stop all the squabbling over this property and just put the old Foodtown back there. Everyone will then be happy in the merry ole land of Brick........................

We have to make this land something that is going to pay taxes!! We need some kindof new rateables coming in! No to more apartments, we have too many now in town!! Why can't we just make it strictly for retail and nothing else!! I love the idea of a park, but this land cost a lot of money, we have to try and recoup that money somehow!

Jim: Do we really need more new retail space? We might as well call our town the Brick Township Mall. There is plenty of empty retail space that needs to be filled. We can have revenue producing assets while protecting and improving the property close to the water. If you are able to make it, we'll show how this can be done tomorrow evening at 7:30PM at the library.
