For the most Shore area fans of the New York sports scene, the best chance to talk about their favorite players and teams is by calling into one of the shows on WFAN.

One Howell resident is a finalist in a competition to be on the station on a regular basis.

Joseph Giglio, who according to the WFAN Fantasy Phenom 3 website is a lifelong sports fan, is one of five people in the running for a contract with the radio station. Having graduated from DeSales University in 2008 with a degree in sports management Giglio currently works as a freelance sports writer.

Giglio is not the only New Jersey resident hoping to work across the river. His competition also includes James Buzzone from Jersey City and James Flippin from Montclair.

The final part of the competition was an on air interview at Bar A in Lake Como and the decision on who gets the contract is now up to the listening audience. Voting closes Monday at Noon and according to the website the winner will be announced next week.
