Brick Resident Recieves Cabinets To Help Restore Kitchen
Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity helped resident restore kitchen.
Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity’s Hurricane Sandy relief efforts continued recently, as they helped Brick resident and war veteran John Pearson restore his kitchen.
Signature Kitchens and Sesso Tile and Stone Fabricators partnered to help complete the kitchen by donating cabinets and counter tops.
Pearson, an 80-year-old Korean War veteran, was approved for Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity’s (NOHFH) ‘A Brush With Kindness’ Veteran Repair Corps project, in which the affiliate had plans to restore John’s home to a healthy condition.

“Hurricane Sandy flooded his home, bringing it to an even worse condition, and NOHFH is now moving forward to return him home as soon as possible,” Suzan Fichtner, NOHFH Executive Director, said in a prepared statement. “It is inspiring to see John work with our affiliate everyday to help out on construction, but he can't live there just yet.”
Joseph Dello Buono, co-owner of Signature Kitchens and co-owner Tony Dello Buono said in the stateement, “We are grateful to Sesso Tile and Stone Fabricators for joining us in our efforts of helping John restore his kitchen and we hope he can return to his home soon.” Signature Kitchens is located in Hawthorne and is opening soon in Point Pleasant.Owner of Sesso Tile and Stone Fabricators Ernie Sesso, added, "Sesso Tile and Stone Fabricators is very grateful to have the opportunity to support Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity’s Hurricane Sandy efforts and Mr. Pearson who so selflessly served and protected our country."
