One of the best local displays for the holiday is also one of the most unique. Instead of relying on store-bought items, Paul Hayes' Winter Wonderland on Van Zile and Oak Hollow is comprised of dozens of handmade wooden cutouts of popular children's shows, fairy tales, toys and more.
It's the only place where a hand-drawn and jig-sawed Spiderman is hanging out with all the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Smurfs, Bart Simpson, Snoopy, Cinderella and Big Bird, while Santas, snowmen, carolers and reindeer smile nearby.
Dozens of lights, moving inflatable characters, a vintage fire truck and a peek inside the well-decorated Hayes house are all part of the annual display, where residents are invited to walk around the property and check out all the sites.
