Free Thanksgiving Meals Planned In Toms River Area

Thanksgiving meals offered by local churches and other agencies

Local charities and churches are working this week to prepare for Thanksgiving meal distribution to those in need.

In many cases an RSVP is required, and events vary from a sit-down style event to meal pick-up to take home.

Here is a list of local events, giving free Thanksgiving meals out, in and around the Toms River area:

Salvation Army/Hearty Helpings, 1738 Route 37 West, Toms River, 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1500 Hooper Ave., Toms River, noon and 4 p.m. Thanksgiving. Call 732-255-4455 to RSVP. Walk-ins are welcome.

Simon's Soup Kitchen Thursday, November 28th 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Our Lady of Perpetual Help 100 Grant Ave., Seaside Heights.

Macedonia Baptist Church, 143 John St., Lakewood, 11:30 a.m. Thanksgiving. Contact 732-363-9804. Volunteers are needed.

Church of Epiphany, 615 Thiele Road, Brick, noon Thanksgiving; RSVP required, contact 732-458-0220. Deliveries may be made upon request.

Lakehurst Community Center, 203 Center St., Lakehurst, noon to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving.
