1836 Temperance Rally

Join the Villagers on Sunday, July 28th from 12-4pm for an 1836 Temperance Rally reenactment! In the 1830's, James P. Allaire did not allow the consumption of "ardent spirits" in his Village. The Temperance Movement was often linked to the Abolition and Women's Movements, and would have been a topic of debate for this time. Our Villagers will be debating the pro's and con's of temperance, and will ask you to join them in their crusade!

Activities will include speeches, a special program at 1pm, debates, games, and militia activities! The Village Homes and Trade Shops will be open from 12-4pm for tours and the Bakery and General Store will be open from 10am-4:30pm. Join us for this historic event for the entire family! There is a $5 parking fee for this event.
