As of 12:28 p.m today., traffic was at a standstill on southbound side of the Garden State Parkway, at mile 88, heading toward the Toms River Toll Plaza, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
Traffic northbound was traveling at a regular pace, an eyewitness said.
Officials with the Turnpike Authority said the delay was due to ongoing roadwork, but by 2:13 p.m., the advisory had been lifted.
