Ribbon-Cutting Held For Tudor Village

A number of people with developmental disabilities and handicaps will soon be able to call Brick Township home after a ribbon-cutting ceremony held today at the Tudor Village apartments on Route 70.

Several town officials including Mayor Stephen Acropolis, Councilman John Ducey and partner organizations with Tudor Village including were on hand to welcome the new apartment building.

Officials said that three of the apartments have been you have already been rented and the remaining nine are in negotiations with him perspective residents.

The first floor units will house nine individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities who receive housing and program services through two state authorized agencies under the Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Speakers at the event included several local dignitaries and partners to the project, including:
*         Stephen C. Acropolis, Mayor, Township of Brick

*         David W. Wolfe, Assemblyman, 10th Legislative District

*         Marie-Elena Sodeikes, Coordinator for Individuals with Disabilities,  Ocean County Department of Human Services

*         Anthony Marchetta, Executive Director, NJHMFA

*         Janel Winter, Director of Housing & Program Development, New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities

*         Annemarie Uebbing, Director of Community Development and Planning, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
