A year ago this week, the boardwalk was a chewed-up mess; and the devastation spread

The boardwalk that's been home to the fabled Jenkinson's train; the Easter-discounted childen's rides; and many other unique family attractions were still there.

But when Superstorm Sandy hit, the lingering question were: Would they remain? Would they function like they did before?

Mark Vetrini, a graduate of Point Pleasant Boro High School, Class of 1985, captured the images of the devastated, mile-long structure hours after the worst storm to strike the Jersey Shore passed through.
