Overflow Recyclables To Be Collected

It has been a long wait, but the automated recycling program is now in full swing in Brick.

To address the number of residents who have accumulated recyclables while waiting for the transition, Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis has instructed the Department of Public Works to collect all overflow recyclables throughout the collections of this week, July 22.

Residents can place any recyclables that won’t fit into their automated recycling can at the curb and they will be collected by a separate truck, Acropolis said in a prepared statement.  These collections will continue through the last day of the second automated recycling cycle.

Once this cycle has been completed on July 27, the only recyclables collected at curbside will be from the automated recycling can.  (Oversized cardboard will continue to be collected at curbside by a separate truck).

Recyclables can be brought to the Brick Township Recycling Center, 836 Ridge Road, Mondays through Saturdays, 8 a.m.  to 3:30 p.m.
