Mold Remediation Efforts Ongoing At Drum Point

Remediation efforts are ongoing at Drum Point Elementary School and the total price tag for remediation efforts is expected to fall in the range of $356,000, according to a presentation at the Board of Education meeting.

Superintendent Walter Uszenski said that Brinkerhoff Environmental Service, a New Jersey environmental consulting firm has been retained to perform the work.

The objective of the work is to remove any mold found on various surfaces throughout the building and the work will continue on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.

Uszenski said the district is working with forensic engineers to determine the source of the mold and to permanently remove it.

Remediation work is complete at Brick Memorial High School.
