Jersey Shore Nightlife: Memorial Day Weekend 2012

Performances at Jenks, Seaside, Surf City Hotel feature the Shore's hottest acts

Don't worry, lovers of the nightlife. Even in Point Beach, the doors are - plenty of time to revel in the celebration of the unofficial start of summer 2012.

But across the Shore area, bars and clubs have solidified their summer calendars with a mix of all-time favorites and newcomers to the nightlife scene.

The post-sundown fun all starts with a bang this weekend!

Here are a few of the highlights:

At Jenks Club in Point Pleasant Beach, Friday brings one of the area's most popular cover bands - Lifespeed - accompanied by DJ Prime. On Saturday night, A-List DJ Unique and legendary cover band The Nerds take the stage. Unique returns on Sunday night alongside The Benjamins, another one of the Shore's most popular cover rock acts.

The Amish Outlaws will rock Surf Club in Ortley Beach on Friday night. The group of former horse-and-buggy occupants traded in their overalls for electric guitars years ago, and the rest is history. On Saturday night, the club will feature three DJs from across the country spinning all night long.

Seaside Heights' craziness kicks off Friday night at Aztec with Jersey Shore Fridays, featuring a mix of Latin top 40, hip-hop, reggaeton and reggae music by DJ Edit and DJ EQ. The boys hit the tables at 10 p.m.

Aztec also kicks off the Shore's hottest industry night on Monday, when the doors open for DJ Unique at 9 p.m. Unique and guest DJs will spin every Monday at Aztec throughout the summer.

For those who never want the party to end, Hemingway's Cafe in Seaside Heights will remain open 'til 4 a.m. this weekend. It all starts Friday with DJ Milky Mike spinning all night long. Saturday night is a dance party and Sunday will feature a live broadcast from 92.3 Now FM in New York with DJ Toro, DJ Yonny, BTK and TEO all performing.

In Manahawkin, The Quelle at The Dutchman's restaurant on Cedar Bonnet Island will open its brand new rooftop bar Friday night. The staff there say the new digs will allow for live performances, which will kick off this weekend. Grab a traditional German beer while listening to some great tunes, all overlooking Barnegat Bay. The best part: arrival by boat is no problem with free docking.

On LBI, Screaming Broccolli kicks off an all-weekend, all-star cover band lineup at Joe Pop's in Ship Bottom on Friday night. The Benjamins hit the stage Saturday night, with The Nerds performing Sunday night.

Elsewhere on the island, Johnny Drama is booked for Saturday Night at Marlin Bar in Beach Haven, with Lifespeed rocking the house on Sunday.

One of the Shore's most notable bands (they are also the self-proclaimed "world's greatest party band), Shorty Long will appear Sunday night at the Surf City Hotel in Surf City. It's always a packed house, so arrive early to get a seat at one of the place's three bars.
