Five men face charges of human trafficking for allegedly operating brothels in Lakewood that were part of a large prostitution network in New Jersey, New York and other states.

Beach officials in Belmar, Point Beach, Brick and Toms River also have pulled bathers out of the water as a precaution because of reports that schools of rays were frolicking in the surf. Sharks have also been spotted.
