Governor Stops In Brick On Sandy Anniversary

Several hours after First Lady Mary Pat Christie visited the Visitation Relief Center in Brick, her husband Gov. Chris Christie also visited the center.

The center has been a central resource for residents who were hard-hit during the 2012 storm.

Many Brick residents have been in need of assistance or are awaiting demolition of their devastated homes following the storm.

Gov. Christie's stop in Brick rounded out a day of visits to communities that were particularly hard-hit by Sandy, including Seaside Park, Union Beach, Sea Bright, Belmar and others.

The governor made a special point of talking directly to area residents, saying that just because officials commemorate the anniversary of Sandy and recognize the progress that has been made so far, "doesn't mean we have forgotten" those people who are still not in their homes and are still need of assistance.
