Brick Police To Residents: Lock Your Car Doors

Brick police are asking residents to lock their cars and remove keyless devices after a number of high-end vehicles have been broken into in Monmouth and Ocean counties in recent weeks.
Sgt. Henry Drew issued a prepared statement noting that cars that have passive ignition devices can be started by stepping on the brake and pushing one button if the device is found in in the car.
Therefore it is important to remove the keys or passive ignition devices, Drew said.
Residents are asked to report anything suspicious to local police at 732-262-1100.
