UPDATE: Police Release Surveillance Video of Target Attack

Brick police are still investigating an attack on a woman outside the township's Target store, and this morning issued surveillance video of the attack.

The woman was leaving the store Tuesday night at 11:26 p.m. when a man in a ski mask attacked her from behind as she approached the passenger side of her friend’s vehicle, Sgt. Henry Drew said.

The unknown man pulled the victim down from behind, and attempted to pull her purse away from her, Drew said. The victim was aided by her friend, and when he was unsuccessful in pulling the purse away, let go and fled towards the wooded area in between PC Richards and Target.

The man was said to be wearing a dark colored ski mask, Drew said. He was described as a man of medium build, approximately 5-foot-10, wearing a long sleeved black t-shirt, jeans, and white sneakers with a Nike logo.

Police searched the woods nearby but could not locate the suspect.

Brick police are now looking for anyone who may have seen something suspicious Tuesday evening. Anyone who may have information is being asked to contact Detective Daniel Waleski in the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-262-1170.

The investigation is on-going at this time, Drew said.
