Brick police are investigating a stabbing involving a juvenile male that occurred on Sawmill Road around 8:30 p.m. last night, according to reports.
Reached by phone this morning, an official with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office noted that Brick police were handling the incident.
Sgt. Henry Drew, a spokesman for the Brick Police Department, confirmed this morning that a stabbing occurred, and said the victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center Trauma Unit by the Brick Township Police, EMS, and MONOC paramedics.
Drew wrote in a statement that the stabbing occurred during a fight involving occupants of a vehicle that was attempting to leave the Maple Leaf complex.
The vehicle was located a short time later on Alexander Avenue.
No arrests have been made at this time, as a suspect has yet to be identified.
