Sandy..the demolition

Sandy hit this community in October people did not and quite honestly still have not done anything to there homes in the year after thanks to F.E.M.A., Flood zone issues, flood insurance companies not paying out, insurance in general, and the many other "helpful" grants and vehicles people NEEDED to get their lives back in order.  It was 11 months until  they could actually start to Demo and break ground on their future due to the "red tape" caused by the mass confusion of that trinity.
The process was started and  Demo was begun in September. The lot was irregular so knowing ahead of time there would be red tape Steve had two choices. Take it all down and only pray the Township would grant a variance asking if it would be ok to rebuild a home on the site of the old home. (common sense tells you it WAS there already rebuild) In reality they would have been tied up in court for that for who knows how long as there are new rules which make sense in future development but grandfathering is not easy to prove. The second thing would be to leave the original footprint and there would be less problems (as far as legality go not proper construction).
The home was demoed and  the second choice was chosen or we would be waiting for the rest of this "story" to be told who knows when? The original footprint is there and needed major repair.....
Now again there were choices to be made. Do we wait for the FLOOD ZONE CONTROVERSY, to find which  flood zone they will "really" be in. As there were conflicting stories and timing was an issue for the many people affected?
No...with the homeowners ok we will build higher than we needed to in worst case scenario!  And on we go..
