Jenks Club Closes for Winter Repairs

Jenkinson's popular nightclub will shutter for the rest of the winter and reopen in spring after boardwalk and infrastructure repairs are complete, the business announced.

"Jenks Club will be temporarily closed while upgrades to the boardwalk and our infrastructure are being performed. We will be reopened in the spring of 2014 for your future enjoyment," announced Jenks on its facebook page.

The last night of entertainment was Thursday, Dec. 12's Poinsettia Bash, and no events are currently scheduled.

That includes the cancellation of a popular New Year's Eve party and the distribution of the annual VIP cards for Jenks, where clubgoers holding the cards received reduced admission or no cover charge in addition to other specials. Instead, Jenks announced, VIP cards will be distributed sometime in April.

The announcement came Dec. 9 from the club, three days before its last scheduled event, Poinsettia Bash, a fundraiser. The club remains closed as of Dec. 13.

While the north and south portions of the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk were repaired previously, the middle portion is now under going repairs. These repairs were cited by Jenks as the main reason for the winter closure.

Jenkinson's Aquarium is unaffected and remains open with holiday hours.
