Brick Yogurt Shop Gives Customers A 'Yummy' Experience

Yogurt shop owner takes pride in letting the customer take charge

Tired of not getting enough sprinkles with your frozen yogurt? At Brick's newest frozen ice cream shop, patrons can take charge of their favorite dessert and dabble a little bit of everything without having to wait.

Yum Yum Frozen Yogurt , a 1,700-square-foot, all-Koscher certified frozen yogurt store, opened its doors in March on Route 70, next to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Owner Lyle Diamond said Yum Yum offers free wi-fi for its customers, and just like Starbucks, encourages people to sit and stay awhile.

"In a couple of weeks, it'll be easier for people to come in and use the wi-fi since we'll have more couches and places to sit," Diamond said.

While Yum Yum's location in Brick is Diamond's single location, he said he has plans to franchise in the future.

What differentiate's Yum Yum from the crowd? An interactive yogurt experience, Diamond says. In addition to modern decorations including light-up floor tiles, customers can create their own favorite dessert.

"We have free-standing topping bars and a circular wall where the yogurt is, so you can jump from yogurt to yogurt without having to wait." Diamond said.

Diamond said Yum Yum is different from Toms River's Yo Factor — which also is a frozen yogurt shop that offers unlimited toppings — because "at Yo Factor, you get on line and someone else takes the yogurt from you, and you have to wait for everyone to get their toppings."

"We have more toppings than anyone else around," Diamond said, listing raspberry, kiwis, strawberries, blackberries and more; all fresh fruit.

Yum Yum Yogurt is located at 588 Route 70 West, next to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
