Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Neighbor With Samurai Sword

As a result of the investigation, the sword has been confiscated

A 35-year-old Brick man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and numerous other charges after police allege he held a samurai sword to a neighbor's neck and threatened him with it.

John Jandola, of Finchley Drive was arrested and charged after police responded Sunday to his residence after a neighbor complained of a smell coming from the place.

Jandola told police he would clean the smell, but when the smell - which allegedly came from his dog - continued, the neighbor who originally complained about the smell went to his home to confront him about it, police said.

Jandola then allegedly threatened the neighbor with a samurai sword, and allegedly pushed the neighbor.

As a result of the investigation, the sword has been confiscated and Jandola charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said.

Bail has been set at $30,000.
