Brick Man Charged With DWI After Car Crashes Into Pool

A 29-year-old Brick man has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police said his car crashed into a pool Friday night. By Colleen Platt

A 29-year-old Brick man has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police said his car crashed into a pool Friday night.

At 10:30 p.m. on July 5th, Brick officers responded to the intersection of Lexington Drive and Sally Ike Road for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a pool. 

On scene, officers noted that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Sally Ike Road when it left the roadway in the area of Lexington Drive.

Upon leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a fire hydrant, street sign, some bushes and the rear fence to a residence on Lexington Drive, as it continued into the back yard.  

The vehicle then impacted the pool fence before coming to final rest with the front axle partially submerged in the in-ground pool.

Officers arrested the operator of the vehicle, Justin Caruso, of Brick for driving while intoxicated and other related motor vehicle offenses. 

The accident is being investigated by Patrolman Jay Nye of the Brick Township Police Patrol Division.
