Jersey Shore Nightlife: June 1-3

With Memorial Day Weekend over, the party rolls on

Memorial Day Weekend was just the start.

The kickoff parties are over, and now it's time to get down to business. For the second weekend of the unofficial summer, there's plenty to keep everyone busy after the sun goes down.

Things start early at Jenks Club, when the Bobby Lynch Band plays their signature covers from 2-6 p.m. on stage. At night, DJ Prime begins his weekly Friday night summer schedule, hitting the tables at 9 p.m. On Saturday, the club will feature No Standards from 3-7 p.m. followed by DJs at night from 92.3 Now FM in New York City.
(300 Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Beach)

At River Rock in Brick, well-known cover band Big Band Baby will perform Friday night. River Rock is located at the foot of the Route 70 bridge over the Manasquan River in Brick (right on the border with Point Pleasant Boro) and the staff has made the dockside tiki bar look great this season. The place is definitely worth a look, and nobody can complain about the band!
(1600 Route 70, Brick Twp.)

MJ is still alive and well at Surf Club in Ortley Beach this weekend, as Whose Bad, "the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band" hits the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. As usual, the club will host its weekly Sunday party.
(1900 Ocean Avenue, Ortley Beach)

On LBI, Joe Pops is hosting the Lighthouse Film Festival after part from 9-11 p.m. Saturday. Some newcomers to the local cover band scene, Shots and Goggles, will perform. They're a fun band - period - so if you're on the island Joe Pops will be the place to be Saturday night.
(2002 Long Beach Boulevard, Ship Bottom)

Also on LBI, DJ Prime will spin at The Shell in Beach Haven Friday night. On Saturday, the oceanfront bar and club will play host to The Reservoir Dogs cover band from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
(10 South Atlantic Ave., Beach Haven)

That's a taste of this week's nightlife. Check back every Friday all summer here on Patch for the picks of the week!

Have any of you been to the Lakewood BlueClaws Thirsty Thursday games? I'm pretty sure their gates open an hour before game time. I try to be first in line so I can get as many $1 beers as possible. I'm part of their Thirsty Thursday club as well, where I've got VIP access to cut the long beer lines (it's awesome btw). It looks like they have 2 Thursday games these next two weeks, I hope to see some of you out there!
