A Message for the New Brick Township Council

Discussing past issues that were made while campaigning for the council. Many are false.

To the victor goes the spoils.

The only trouble with this statement is there really are "spoils." Yes, we in Brick do have "spoils" that we have inherited from the past Scarpelli Administration and they will not be eradicated over night.

Although Rome was not built in a day, a new broom sweeps clean and Brick has a new working broom in place, but will it clean up problems or make new ones?

There must be justice in Brick if we are to go forth and continue in the limelight that made this community a first class place in which to raise a family and live in peace and comfort. The battle was fought, issues were presented, some good some bad and now is the time to re-group for the good of Brick.

I therefore challenge the new administration to get to work and right the wrongs that they have campaigned about as a community, so that we can once again prosper in our desired goals, which are many. Brick should be the only issue on the minds of those in the administration and not of self serving, other sources of monetary income for personal use. ie. (health benefits, stipends and proposed salary for the Mayor), not including council benefits which were the focus of political campaign literature recently reported to be false or bogus.

January 1, 2012 was start of a new beginning and we, as your constituants, will be watching your every move. You do have the wisdom and talent to accomplish and correct that which needs correcting, invent that which needs to be discovered and peacefully bring forth harmony to our township.  The reason you were elected and are now sitting in your seats is because we believed and trusted in all of you.

Now make us proud of you by up-holding your pledges that were printed on literature of your choice, literature that has revealed your opposite intent and your want of money as a measure of payment for a job you stated no benefits or money was needed. The lowering of a salary range for the Mayor was discussed but seemed to back-fire when the mayor gave back all but $1 to Brick. Has this trumped your "table motion" to cease?

I await your decision and please don't abstain, this has become a political issue of magnitude by another councilman. To abstain is nothing but a decision not to make a decision. We need honest thinkers, not those who get paid thousands of dollars and do not vote on issues of importance or to save face for coming elections.

Be honest and forthright, Brick needs you, but only if you are truthful.
