Lavallette Beach: Bay and Ocean Views

Lavallette has both an active ocean beach and bay scene. Activities on the beach include swimming, surfing and ocean kayaking. Along the bay are four playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts and biking. The bayfront also is a popular spot for water activities, including fishing and boating.

Beach Fees

  • No fee for children younger than 12.

  • $45 per person, per season. Season badges available throughout the season. Badges purchased before June 19 are $35 during the pre-season sale period.

  • $25 per person, per week or fraction thereof. A “week” is defined as the period from Saturday through the following Saturday.

  • $7 per person for each daily badge.

  • $14 per person for the entire bathing season for any person 65 years of age or over, any totally disabled person, and for all disabled veterans of any military service and all military service personnel on active duty status.

The beach opens and is staffed with lifeguards daily beginning June 19. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Swimming is allowed only in designated areas. Boogie boarding is allowed between the white and blue flags.

Surfing spots are located at Haddonfield Avenue, Brown Avenue and Trenton Avenue. 

Parking is available in municipal lots and costs $10 for a season pass.  Free street parking is available in designated areas.

There are no public restrooms. Animals, meals, and alcohol are prohibited on the beach.
